Learning outcomes

On completion of this course a successful student will be able to:

Describe the difference between physical and psychological crowds

Describe the main features of the social identity approach to density and crowding behaviours

Explain the background to modern day crowd theory and research

Understand how collective resilience can be facilitated in mass emergencies

Understand how crowd conflict can emerge from relations between crowds and others outside the crowd.
